Hey there! Welcome to Hadassah Studio, where we explore stories that move, surprise, and linger long after they’re told. Our project, “The House That Remembers,” is a short horror animation that dives into a family’s haunting past. This home isn’t just a setting, it’s a witness. Generational secrets, hidden for decades, echo through its walls as the house slowly reveals the dark truths it has been holding onto.

HDRI Lighting Setup

I began by introducing an HDRI environment into Unreal Engine and removing the default lighting. This was my first time working in Unreal, so I explored how the lighting system behaves to establish the right atmospheric foundation.

Camera Animation

I animated slow, deliberate camera movements that glide through the house and across the kitchen table, revealing the abandoned remnants of the family’s past.

Dutch Angle Shots

To enhance the sense of unease, I incorporated Dutch angles. These tilted compositions subtly communicate tension and foreshadow the darker truths held within the space.

Texturing Wall Photography

I textured and placed old family photographs along the walls, adding layers of memory and history to the environment.

Interior Lighting Design

Cold, purplish lighting was introduced throughout the interior to reinforce the horror tone and highlight the emotional weight of the house.

Exterior Plant Selection

I selected and placed plants around the structure to support the overall mood and visual balance of the environment.

Forest Environment Development

Trees and foliage were added around the exterior to create an isolated, forest-like setting, strengthening the eerie atmosphere surrounding the home.
